ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate whether human breast milk may bind to hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and its characteristics. Methods Breast milk samples from five women with negative HBsAg and hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs) at one to two months post delivery were fractioned into cream and skimmed milk by centrifugation. The human breast milk and each fraction as well as cow and goat milk samples, served as controls, were separately incubated with highly purified yeast recombinant HBsAg,followed by determination of their binding capability to HBsAg by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the inhibition rate for binding of HBsAg to anti-HBs by quantitative chemiluminescence microparticle immunoassay. After boiled for 1 min or pasteurized in 65 ℃ for 30 min,the thermal stability of the active components of milk was detected.One-way ANOVA and SNK tests were performed for statistical analysis. Results The operative concentration of HBsAg was 0.1 μg/ml.Breast milk from all five women showed significantly better binding capability to HBsAg than cow or goat milk (1.306±0.300 vs 2.157±0.150 and 2.232±0.093,F=34.303,P<0.01).The quantitative experiments showed that the inhibition rate of human breast milk was higher than that of the control group [(74.26± 17.26)% vs (0.00±5.50)%,F=57.806,P<0.01].The binding ability to HBsAg of skimmed milk was comparable with that of whole milk, indicating milk protein(s) played critical roles in binding to HBsAg (0.877 ± 0.486 vs 0.513 ± 0.069 and 0.376 ± 0.146,F=44.475,P<0.01).After boiled for 1 min or Pasteurization, the binding ability to HBsAg of whole breast milk remained, but that of skimmed milk went down (F=16.598,P<0.01).Both whole breast milk and skimmed milk could inhibit the binding of HBsAg to anti-HBs (F=278.341 and 269.408,both P<0.01).Conclusions The inhibition of binding to HBsAg by human breast milk indicates that human milk may interact with HBsAg.The active components mainly exist in milk proteins and are thermal stable.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of PDCA circulation on the effective utilization of the disposable articles in the operating room. Methods 9,362 aseptic articles for 446 operations in the departments of general surgery and hepatobiliary surgery during January to May 2012 were put in the pre-experiment group,in which PDCA circulation was not used.Another 11,973 articles for 501 operations in the same departments during June to November 2012 were set as the post-experiment group,in which PDCA circulation was used. The two groups were compared in terms of the effective utilization rate and the degree of doctor’s satisfaction with the nurses in the operation room.Result After the implementation of PDCA circulation, the effective utilization rate and the degree of doctor’s satisfaction were both significantly higher than before the implementation(both P<0.05).Conclusion PDCA circulation for the management of sterile disposable articles in the operation room may effectively improve the utilization rate of disposable articles, reduce wasting of articles and safe resources.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effects of Tangzhiping granules on the blood glucose and IGF-Ⅰ in T2DM rats. Methods 40 SPF grade Wistar rats whose weight were about (200±20)g were selected as the subjects for this study, one half were male and another half were female. After be adapted to the normal food for 1 week,8 rats were selected randomly from all of rats following their weight as the blank group (ordinary feed). The remaining the others were fed with the high-fat and high-sugar food. The 6th week, the other rats would be undergo intraperitoneal injection once in left lower belly with 40 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ),and enable them to become T2DM rats. The 8th week,we would select successful animal models 32 which were divided randomly into a modle group,a Tangmaikang (TMK) granules group,a Tangzhiping granules (TZP)group. The 12th week,we would execute all of rats and collect the blood serums which were tested for the blood glucose and IGF-Ⅰ.Results () Compared model group with blank group, the levels of the blood glucose of the model group increased to (28.33±0.50)mmol/L,while the IGF-Ⅰ decreased to (3.40 ± 0.83) pg/ml,which showed the model of type 2 diabetic rats was successfully set up.② The levels of the blood glucose of the Tangzhiping granules group and Tangmaikang granules group were lower than that of the model group to (15.06±0.39)mm ol/L,(20.12±0.58)mmol/L,but the levels of the IGF-Ⅰ were higher to (9.39±2.91)pg/ml,(5.58± 1.09)pg/ml,which implied that each group of pharmacological treatment had a good effect.③ The level of the blood glucose and IGF-Ⅰ of the Tangzhiping granules group was also significantly different from that of the Tangmaikang granule group, the therapeutic effect of Tangzhiping granules group was better than that of Tangmaikang granules group. Conclusion Tangzhiping granules can reduce the blood glucose of T2DM rats. And also can increase IGF-Ⅰ of T2DM rats.Tangzhiping granules can improve the various symptoms of diabetes mellitus at the same time.
